The long awaited pictures of our house

I know, this has taken extremely long, but I hope it was worth waiting for!

View from the neighbouring street

From the entrance gate

The lowest point of the garden: the main vegetable patch, Scott's joy and pride.

View from that patch. Our flatmate Allan is living on the groundfloor, in the area which is painted white (3 windows + 1 door)

View on the lawn

The hill is so steep that our lawnmower actually died when I tried to take it up the slope. The kids love this spot and use it to race down in their cars or kick down balls that we have to throw back to them. Great fun!

Front deck on the first floor

View from the vegetable patch: the carport

Highest point of the garden, at the back of the house, with the retaining wall that should prevent the hill from coming down in the event of an earthquake.

Our lounge with 'colonial barred' windows, which were supposed to be very fashionable in 1987, the year the house was built, but are now a bit dated, don’t you think? We’ve got these gorgeous views from all around the house, but those bloody bars block everything. I can’t wait till we’ve saved enough to have them replaced.

Our bedroom, on the top floor, at the back of the house

View from the playroom, opposite our bedroom

And this is where I spend most of my time translating.

Who would have thought that we'd ever live in a house with a pink bathroom!

Those of you with an eye for detail might have noticed that the colours in the house have not been picked by an interior designer. My sister would get a heart attack when she saw the interior walls, doors and the colour of the blinds. But well, there's something we can do about it. When we get back from Europe in September we might paint the whole inside. Now we need to focus on the outside, which should be painted by the end of the month. Any colour suggestions?
